The Southern Connecticut Coalition of B Stigma-Free was first inspired in the spring of 2013 as Stigma-Free CT, a collaboration with the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) Fairfield. Its inaugural event was an essay contest.
Today the Southern Connecticut Coalition of B Stigma-Free is a growing alliance of area groups and individuals from Fairfield and New Haven counties that share the goal of eradicating stigma. Through a mutually beneficial partnership we participate in joint activities that engage the local community in dialogue. We recognize that by working together each organization can be more effective and reach a broader audience, and that our collective voices are more powerful than if we stand alone.
