Marvin Pannell, MBA
Marvin Pannell, MBA is the Director of Management & Operations at Peace Corps Thailand. He is a results-oriented leader with a passion for solving business challenges, and a drive for continuous improvement using data-driven insights and technology. He possesses private and public sector experiences across a range of organizations from Fortune 500 financial titans to privately-held start-ups, and federally-funded international assistance agencies.
Before moving to Thailand, Marvin lived in New York City where he was the Director of Digital Marketing for New York Life Insurance Company. He also lived and worked in California where he owned the digital strategy and tactical execution of direct response acquisition campaigns for the California State Automobile Association Insurance Group. Additional leadership stints included online product management and internal e-business consulting roles at Wells Fargo Bank, and at online art retailer, Art.com.
Born in Thailand and raised in New Jersey, Marvin had an early career in international development and has worked in and visited more than 30 countries. After serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Thailand, he was selected as a Peace Corps Fellow, and later became a Director of Management and Operations for Peace Corps programs in Turkmenistan and Latvia prior to starting a career in the private sector.
Marvin is an avid tennis player and served on the advisory committee of a city-owned tennis facility in Oakland, CA. In his spare time, he enjoys attending live performances from musicals, to jazz, and modern dance. Marvin frequents the art houses of New York City where he sees one film a week, mostly indie and non-English language films.
Marvin holds a BA in Economics from Brown University and an MBA from the Ross School of Management at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). He currently resides in Bangkok, Thailand.
